About Obsidian
Obsidian is a notes app that stores everything as plain Markdown files in a folder you control. Notes link to each other and the graph view shows how your thinking connects. A large plugin ecosystem covers tasks, spaced repetition, canvases and sync.

Plain markdown in a folder I control. In ten years I will still be able to read these notes. It is doing more work than the marketing copy suggests...

the plugin ecosystem is both the best and worst thing.

i went in sceptical and sync is paid but reasonable and it is end to end encrypted. you can also just use a git repo.

Graph view looks impressive in screenshots and I have never once used it for anything real.
