Coolify is an open source alternative to Heroku and Vercel that runs on your own server. Connect a git repo, pick a database or a Docker image and deploy with automatic HTTPS. It manages backups, environment variables and monitoring.

for me, self hosted heroku on my own hetzner box. costs me 6 euros a month to run eleven services.

V4.3.19 and the update cadence is wild, sometimes twice a week. Mostly good but read the notes before you click update. Which is a surprisingly nice problem to have.

the traefik integration handles certs automatically. that alone saved me hours.

Backups to s3 work well. Tested a restore, it actually restored, which is not a given...
